Skyscraper
An exciting film to watch, but unoriginal and absolutely ridden with action movie tropes. Just skip this one and go take in an ‘80s action flick; that’s where the fun (and creativity) is.
The Equalizer 2
Solid, but dull and slowly paced. Very forgettable, very unnecessary sequel.
Slender Man
I usually find something to enjoy about most movies, but this one had zero redeeming qualities. I was completely bored throughout and nearly fell asleep. There was nothing horrific about this horror film except for the fact that it was allowed to be made.
The Happytime Murders
A movie about a serial killer knocking off puppets. Enough said.
Assassination Nation
I was completely turned off by the gratuitous language, attitudes of the characters, and unspeakable violence. Assassination Nation is a trendy piece of social commentary, and that’s about the only semi-positive thing I can say about it.
The Front Runner
I was excited about this film but ended up being extremely disappointed. It was boring, didn’t delve deeply enough into many aspects of the story, and left me feeling really annoyed in the end.
The Girl in the Spider’s Web
The trailer looked very promising, but I ended up being very underwhelmed by the actual film. It was extremely slow and things didn’t really pick up until the last twenty minutes or so.
Robin Hood
Filmmakers took a classic story and messed it up with unnecessary special effects and action film cliches. Might as well stick to watching the Kevin Costner version.
The Possession of Hannah Grace
There were some decent suspense scenes, but overall this was complete garbage. Hannah Grace was also working my last nerve; whiny to the max.
Holmes & Watson
My experience seeing the latest Will Ferrell/John C. Reilly picture started off on a sour note when my Sinemia card was declined at the box office and I had to pay out of my own pocket. Things didn’t go much better once I made my way into the theater. This is by far one of the worst films I’ve ever seen. The words asinine, disgusting, simplistic, sophomoric, and dull come to mind.
