Before the 2019 Oscars, I published a list of predictions on how I thought the night would turn out and who would walk away with wins. So, how did those predictions hold up? Out of twenty-four categories, I was able to accurately predict fifteen.

The biggest surprise of the night was Olivia Colman winning instead of Glenn Close. While Colman gave a great performance, I have been a fan of Close’s portrayal in The Wife since late summer of 2018 and have been hoping she’d win ever since. And, while not as shocking, but just as disappointing, Green Book pulled out a win for Best Picture at the end of the night.
