When your whole world has been turned upside down, who will you turn to for help?

Finding Your Feet is the story of Sandra and Bif, sisters who are reconnecting and picking up their relationship from years before. Sandra has just discovered she’s been cheated on by her husband and has left the comfortable trappings of her home and life, moving in with her sister. Bif is spontaneous and noncommittal​, but is quite popular with her friends. They have plenty to learn from each other, to say the least, but it will be Sandra who gains the most in the end. As she tries to figure out who she is, the people Sandra meets and the lessons she learns​​ will have a long-lasting impact on more than just herself.

Imelda Staunton and Celia Imrie portray Sandra and Bif, respectively, and their on-screen chemistry is wonderful. The story is simple, almost to a fault, and is affectionate and deserving of praise. It can be somewhat predictable, but it’s honest in what it is. It’s unlikely that this will win any major awards, but Finding Your Feet is still a lovable film for all audiences.

Joining the cast is Timothy Spall, as Charlie. He is Bif’s friend and has a rude introduction to Sandra. Joanna Lumley, as Jackie, plays a character who has multiple love interests and, in her own way, shares wisdom and insight onto others. There are several others who contribute to the story as supporting characters.

Finding Your Feet is the quintessential British classic, with enough charm and fun to go around for everyone. It will have you hooked from start to finish.

While it hasn’t made much money, only 15.6 million dollars, this film could go down as one beloved by many in the years to come and a treasured addition to anybody’s DVD collection.
